Dr Patricia Eadie said Ireland should follow Britain’s lead as it would “stop serious surgery blunders”. British proposals would prevent untrained doctors from performing plastic surgery procedures.
Dr Eadie said: “One of the proposed legislative changes in the UK, that we would like copied in Ireland, is that the training and qualifications for cosmetic surgery procedures be improved and regulated. “Unbelievably — and the Irish public may not be aware of this — doctors untrained in plastic surgery can carry out plastic surgery.” (Examiner) >
